Medical-grade training delivered on a cost-effective, scalable platform.

Realistic, lifelike experiences recreate what orthopedic surgeons face in the real-world OR. Proven educational principles speed attainment of surgical mastery.

Current orthopedic training programs are unable to keep up with the rapid introduction of new technologies, the trend toward competency-based resident training and the increasing cost burden of traditional surgical training. The use of VR technology complements existing bioskills training, addresses the gaps created by fractionated exposure and uniquely combines contextual learning and technical skills acquisition. Our high-fidelity VR learning platform can also help practicing surgeons maintain and upgrade their skills and expand the capabilities of their current practices.

What is virtual reality?

The surgeon in training wears a headset that projects images of the operating theater and patient, creating a highly realistic and immersive experience. Sensors detect the motions of the hands and fingers, which manipulate the virtual instruments while performing the surgery.

Why virtual reality?

From flight instruction to law enforcement, virtual reality simulation is being widely adopted as a training modality to help create realistic workplace experiences and allow employees to take risks and learn through productive failure. But for surgical training, its use so far has been delivered in a scripted format that guides the surgeon’s hand, stunting learning and surgical readiness.

Why PrecisionOS?

Compared to other surgical simulations, the PrecisionOS high-fidelity VR learning platform stands apart with its lifelike recreations of anatomy and the OR environment, giving surgeons the full freedom of movement and autonomy in decision making that they experience in the actual OR. This results in a new depth of understanding and technical skills acquisition at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional training.

The ideal training modality for attaining surgical readiness.
